As of July 2019 Hawaii passed a law against vacation rentals. There are some that have been grandfathered in over the years and are legal. All others will have to apply for a permit; and they are only going to grant a minimum number per area.
If you have booked a vacation rental; check to make sure that where you are staying is still available and you’re not left without a place to stay!
